but has not been seen since. One of Dana's family members grew concerned because Dana left her kids at the baby sitter over night and that was unusual. Dana's kids were very young at the time she went missing. Dylan was 4 and Destany was only 2 and they miss their mom dearly!
There was a POI (Person Of Interest) which lead Detectives to Atlanta to talk to this man. The man is being questioned in Georgia was arrested in Atlanta and had been charged with driving with a suspended license and posession of marijuana. This 34 year old man who was of interest to police decided to leave Sedalia on October 14, 2008 after police there said they would like to interview him again about Dana's disappearance. Scent dogs and officers combed the area of where the man worked in Sedalia as a pipe-fitter and welder at Pro Energy. There is not a lot of evidence around Dana's disappearance which makes this case so hard to solve! It's like a puzzle you have a few details from the day of the event and you have to place them in the right spot to figure out the story and to make sure the timeline of that days events are in correct order. SPD Detective Travis St. Cyr is assigned to handle any new tips that come in regarding Dana's disappearance. Even though it's been so long since Dana disappeared he said SPD still receives calls. A recent one in 2016 took detectives to Springfield to talk to people Detective Travis said and there were a couple more at the time that they were still following up on. Dana Bruce is described as a 5’2” white female with auburn hair and hazel eyes, weighing 135 pounds. She has a tattoo on her upper left arm of a teddy bear with “Dylan” and she has pierced ears. Anyone with any information on the disappearance of Dana Bruce can contact Detective Travis St. Cyr at 660-826-8100.

Story: Unsolved Missing Person / Cold Case Location: Rhodes Pump-Ur-Own-Service station on Main Street in Scott City Missouri Name: Cheryl Ann Scherer Details: 19 year old Cheryl Ann Scherer went missing from her work at Roades Pump-Ur-Own-Service Station on Main Street in Scott City Missouri on April 17, 1979. It was late morning on April 17, 1979 when Cheryl called her mother Olevia Scherer to talk about what they were going to have for supper. Cheryl told her mother she was excited to be getting of work at 2:00pm and that she had plans to go home and sew. After talking for a few minutes the conversation ended and they hung up their phones. That was the last conversation Olevia ever had with her daughter Cheryl. An off-duty attendant who was at the service station described seeing Cheryl there around 11:30 am on April 17, 1979. The attendant left for a few minutes then returned only to find Cheryl had vanished. Cheryl's car was still parked outside, Cheryl's purse had also been left behind the service station counter and it was also discovered that $480.00 was missing from the bank bag near the register. Lt. Jerry Bledsoe of the Scott County Sheriff's Department is the investigator on this case and has been since the beginning and he is still very hopeful that this case is solvable. Many years later in the Spring of of 2009 Lt. Bledsoe received information about a possible lead in the Cheryl Ann Scherer case. Out of all the leads Lt. Bledsoe has received the strongest on was the 2007 arrest of Timothy W. Krajcir who was arrested for five unsolved homicides in Cape Girardeau, all of women killed in 1977 and 1982. Cape Girardeau detective Jim Smith interviewed Krajcir about Scherer, and even though as promising the lead looked in the beginning this lead too seemed to go nowhere. There turned out to be no indication he'd been involved with Scherer's disappearance. Former Scott County sheriff Bill Ferrell questioned serial killer Henry Lee Lucas in the 1980s about Cheryl Ann Scherer's disappearance. Henry Lee Lucas confessed to killing 179 people throughout the country including one he abducted near interstate 55 in Missouri. Lucas stated he had dumped her body near Crystal City Missouri. After Lucas was shown Scherer's picture he stated that was not the girl he had abducted and killed, and no body was found at the the location he had described of where he had dumped the body. This case has since remained unsolved. When I read about a case like this from a investigative standpoint there are many scenarios that come to mind that could have happened. I will give a few examples below. (1) Cheryl ran away with a friend or boyfriend and didn't want anyone to know where she was going. That would explain the car left were it was and the stolen money. But what makes me think she didn't go on her own free will was that her purse was left and she had a good, strong, and close relationship with her family. If I was going to run away I would at least take my close valuable items like my purse wallet etc. (2) Cheryl left with someone she knew. For instance a friend stopped in and said something like hey run with me real quick and then we will come right back. That would explain the car being left and possible the purse (but if it was me if I was to run somewhere with even a friend and even if it was for a few seconds I would take my wallet or in Cheryl's case a purse.) but this scenario does not explain the missing money from the bank bag. Another good reason that this scenario was not what had happened is that Cheryl was a good hard worker and from what I have read liked her job so in my opinion she wouldn't have left the service station unattended if she was the only one working. (3) Cheryl was abducted or taken against during a robbery gone bad her will. That would explain the car being left and the missing money from the bank bag. In my opinion though I wonder if it was a robbery why not take her purse? It is possible they looked over her purse because they were in a hurry though. (4) My 4th and final theory is that she was abducted and it was made to look like a robbery gone bad. For instance someone who knew or had know of Cheryl came to her place of work and abducted her. There are many scenarios that could happen around this theory and without enough evidence it is almost impossible to find out exactly what happened. To this day the disappearance of Cheryl Ann Scherer still remains unsolved. Is she still alive living away from where she went missing or did someone do something horrible to her. Investigators continue to work on this case and hope that one day they will be able to bring answers and closure to Cheryl's family! While I was digging deeper and doing more research online for this story. I came across a post on a online forum where people discuss these stories and crimes and try to find new clues on these types of cases. What I saw was a post about Cheryl Ann Scherer and there were some Photos found in a storage locker that looked like they could be Cheryl here is the info on these photos below. These photos were discovered by the police in the storage unit that belonged to convicted serial killer Rodney Alcala's and in the forum it is said that police were notified and made aware of the strong resemblance the lady in this photo has to Cheryl Ann Scherer. I have not heard any more info on these photos but just by looking at them you can definitely tell there is a STRONG resemblance between the old photo of Cheryl and these found photos when they are side by side. Hopefully soon there will be new evidence and clues that lead investigators to solving this case!
